Abstract

Mitaka City in Tokyo Prefecture is widely known in Japan for collaborating with its citizens in various areas relating to their daily lives. Receiving the Intelligent Community of the Year award from the Intelligent Community Forum in 2005, brought worldwide recognition to the city.
