Abstract

The selection of any main mechanical ventilator for any underground mine is a strategic, tactical, scientific, economic, and complex process. It can only be started after determining the maximum and minimum values of air quantity requirement along with stage-wise mine resistance. It may also be generalized that mine resistance characteristics curve at various stages of mine life along with fan characteristics curve is required for optimal selection of a main mechanical ventilator.
