Abstract
Based on the discussions and analysis in the preceding chapters, this section explores the consequences of major post-1999 events in Nigeria on the sustainability of democratic governance in the 10-year period under consideration. This is used to solidify the argument of the extent of the penetration and influence of globalization and transnational law on the Nigerian polity. The factors to be considered are constrained to electoral practices, reforms, and interaction amongst the democratic establishments; the re-emergence of religious and (inter or intra) ethnic conflicts; the re-emergence of ethnic and religious separatist or militia groups on the stability of democracy.
