Abstract
Chapter 2, offers a preliminary definition of “Religious Genius” and situates the category in relation to “Saints,” the larger category from which “Religious Genius” is drawn. It offers, and then unpacks, the following definition for “Religious Genius”: “Someone who by application of intuition, intellect and a totally engaged or integrated personality brings about new understanding of reality, grounded in awareness of a broader existential dimension, that leads to deep transformation within a religious tradition.”
