Abstract
Syrian casualties brought to Ziv Medical Center for treatment have several types of trauma in addition to their physical and medical problems. These trauma are linked to living through years of conflict, the serious injury they have sustained, and the perceived alien environment in which they are treated. The focus on treatment is generally on the medical aspects, with less attention and sometimes inadequate support of the mental problems. While their medical condition and attitude toward their environment may improve, these patients still suffer from worry about the situation at home, and experience isolation, which may have a negative impact on their progress. An attempt is therefore made to address the mental problems to the extent possible.
