Abstract
Endovascular embolization of aneurysms has progressed from coil embolization with or without stenting, to additional options such as vascular reconstruction devices. Due to the lesser invasiveness of endovascular techniques compared to craniotomy and clipping, the option of performing the procedure under conscious sedation and the shorter hospitalization and recovery, increasingly endovascular intervention is becoming the preferred treatment for most aneurysms. The various techniques are discussed step by step including when stents cannot be used.
