Abstract
The single-suture traction technique was introduced in my practice in 2004, published in literature in 2007. (Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Journal)
The aim was to substitute the lower eyelid laser skin contraction with skin traction, in order to avoid the post-laser resurfacing sequelae and to secure the lower eyelid from future retraction complications, such as scleral show, ectropion, laxity, etc., by performing this canthopexy. Later this technique was also applied for the correction of the lower eyelid post blepharoplasty complications such as ectropion ans sclera show and also was proved to play a very important role in the shaping and rejuvenation of the eyelid region.
