Abstract

The eyes are the part of the face that attracts the most attention. The delicate structure of the eyelids is easily hampered by time, gravity, and sunlight. Commonly, the first signs of aging appear around the eyes; so, blepharoplasty is a procedure frequently requested by patients. It is easily performed alone or together with other operations addressing the face (e.g., a rhytidectomy). Many modifications to the basic procedure to achieve the best possible result have been described, and almost every surgeon has his or her own hints and tips for this operation.
