Abstract
Building a practice starts with service excellence to patients, staff, and other referral sources. Patients will be a major referral source if treated with respect by you and your staff. Identify other referral sources and build relationships to maintain and grow them. Make it easy for referrals to get you and maintain availability. Establish yourself as an expert and take your share of the difficult cases. Communicate quickly and clearly with physician referral sources and send their patients back to them. Direct to consumer marketing can supplement relationship building. Track your referral sources and be sure to prioritize your referral base.
