Abstract

Intraoperative endoscopy is an important tool in colorectal surgery with applications well beyond localizing a small tumor during laparoscopic colorectal resection. It is useful in assessing the integrity and perfusion of fresh left-sided anastomoses, stopping staple line bleeding and determining the distal margin in low anterior resection.
