Evidence-based Therapy in Vascular Surgery

Abstract

The guidelines and consensus recommendations for the treatment of uncomplicated and complicated acute, subacute and chronic aortic dissections Type B are outlined. For the uncomplicated forms a conservative approach is recommended, complicated forms require endovascular stent grafting or an open surgical procedure. Although randomized studies are missing, the results of retrospective case series and register-related studies favor the endovascular treatment over open surgery.
