Abstract
This chapter delineates the potential of participatory, collaborative approaches to countering malnutrition. Tracing interpretative studies, activist approaches, media coverage and policy initiatives from the last six decades in malnutrition intervention in India, it draws attention to the need for generative action. Drawing on exercises conducted in a Bangalore slum with interested others, it illustrates how framing the pragmatic scope of matters of concern can lead to actionable knowledge building.
