Abstract

Construction of convex polygon basis functions is simple and programs have been reported elsewhere (Floater et al. 2005). Rather than considering this as a separate case, it is included in the more general treatment of well-set polycons. The theory for constructing polycon rational basis functions is definitive. The MATLAB programming is challenging. Subroutines utilize SYMBOLIC MATLAB. The implementation described here may be far from optimal but provides a framework for numerical studies. Comments in the programs start with one % sign. Comments not in the actual program but added here for clarification are preceded by two % signs. A line of *** encloses each program.
