Abstract
Social media networks have quickly revolutionized and transformed the way we work and live. They have created a profound impact in our life. Nowadays, each and every daily activity is linked to social media networks in some way or the other. The other important dimension of social media networks is that it inculcates the art of collaborating with others using networks. One of the major drivers for the big data analytics is the huge amount of unstructured data which is generated by social media networks. It is estimated that Facebook roughly had about 1.28 billion users as of Q1, 2014. Similar is the case with other social media networks also. The proliferation of social media networks has prompted many organizations to adopt business strategies and goals in such a way that they are fully aligned to social media networking concepts and technologies. This chapter is divided into two sections: the first section deals with the use of social media analytics for the evolution of intelligent organizations; the second section deals with the discussion on social media analytics tools.
