Abstract
The use of corticosteroids, still prescribed for many inflammatory diseases, is a serious decision that is to be considered within a precise framework and with a clear objective. Corticosteroids are administered via a local or general route, in short or long courses, or as a bolus. Their anti-inflammatory effect can be temporary, and they have important side effects that must be known and evaluated, as they can often be prevented.
