Abstract
When I was growing up, I thought I would become a lawyer, having been influenced by the Perry Mason television series that I watched as a child. However, I attended Cornell University on a full scholarship and found that majoring in prelaw did not seem an option. I majored in “Child Development and Family Relationships” and was exposed to Urie Bronfenbrenner’s “ecological model” of development and to research. I was also taking courses in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations and designed a couple of studies as part of social psychology course requirements. I began to think about graduate school and decided to pursue social psychology.
