Abstract
In this chapter I invite family therapists to consider how we might integrate critical decolonizing perspectives into our everyday work. I explore the application of critical decolonizing theory to family therapy arguing that third-order, transformational change is a central, trans-theoretical goal in the practice of critically informed family therapy. I suggest some guiding principles for critical decolonizing family therapy and apply these principles to a case example.
