Abstract
In this chapter I examine the scientific literature on attachment and behavioral views of parent-child interactions. First, I compare attachment and behavioral assessments of parent-child interactions. Second, I compare differences between behavioral and attachment theory definitions of positive parenting. Third, I review similarities between interventions that improve security of attachment and interventions that decrease disruptive behavior and maltreatment.
