Abstract

Macroscopic, microscopic, and mesoscopic length scale-based dimensionless governing parameters for natural convection in porous media are introduced. Dimensionless governing parameters at three length scales are presented. Dimensionless governing equations with closure models are derived based on the geometry factor discussed in Chap. 2. Both the conventional finite difference based projection method and the nondimensional lattice Boltzmann method (NDLBM) are presented. Mesh methods for these two numerical schemes are discussed.
