Noncolorectal, Nonneuroendocrine Liver Metastases

Abstract

Astrogliomas, including glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), meningiomas, pituitary adenomas, and metastatic tumors, represent the most frequent brain tumors in adults. Until now, the rarity of extraneural metastases has not had a clear explanation. A total of 41 liver metastases from primary brain tumors are reported in the literature to date. Only one case of hepatic resection for metastases from a GBM has been reported in the literature, with an 8-month survival.
