Clinical Dermatology Trials 101

Abstract

Showcasing cutaneous manifestations of disease and treatment outcomes using photography has become an integral part of dermatological research. Most articles today need, if not require, picture supplementation. In the digital world, the array of devices has made the photograph process both more powerful, yet cumbersome for practitioners. Likewise, the various camera and computer software, image file types, and myriad of journals have made it difficult to navigate the journal submission process. This chapter seeks to elucidate dermatology relevant photography, including novel imaging modalities, best practices for high-quality photographs, patient privacy concerns, and the submission process.

A film is never really good unless the camera is an eye in the head of a poet.
