Abstract
In this book we have presented a number of models describing various phenomena, which appear in life sciences, where the presence of different timescales can be easily identified and used to derive simpler aggregated, or macro, models. Such macro-models describe the original phenomena on a coarser level of resolution then the basic micro-models but, nevertheless, preserve many salient features of the dynamics of the latter.
