Annular pancreas is a variant of development. The normal tissue of the pancreatic head and common bile duct envelop the descending part of the duodenum (↑). If detected in childhood, it may be combined with some developmental anomalies in 75 % of cases. In adult age such complications as pancreatitis and gastric and duodenal ulcers may occur.
