Abstract
Mountain regions—worldwide—are economically backward and environmentally degraded. In this region, the level of economic development is not sufficient to bring the living standard of the populace to a desired level. Though the natural resources are abundantly found in the forms of water, flora and fauna they are not harnessed optimally. The same is the case with abundant human resources, and as a result, the mountain regions remain economically backward.
