Abstract
The new subfamily Kathininae encompasses rotaliid species with a solid umbilical mass pierced by radial slits, row of funnels or open but feathered interlocular space. Three genera (Kathina, Dictyokathina, Plumokathina n. gen.) represent this group and nine species (K. aquitanica n. sp., K. selveri, K. pernavuti, K. delseota, K. major, D. simplex, P. dienii n. sp., P. lenticula n. sp., P. subsphaerica) are here described and illustrated.
