Abstract

The subfamily Rotaliinae is defined by the absence of dorsal ornaments and of umbilical spaces subdivided by free-standing piles. This group embraces five genera (Rotorbinella, Pyrenorotalia, Rotospirella n. gen., Rotalia, Medocia). Ten species (R. skourensis, R. hermi, R. hensoni, R. detrecta n. sp., P. depressa n. sp., R. conica, R. implumis n. sp., R. cf. newboldi, R. trochidiformis, M. blayensis) are described and illustrated.
