New Production Technologies in Aerospace Industry

Part of the book series: Lecture Notes in Production Engineering ((LNPE))

Abstract

The processing of new and advanced high performance materials becomes more important due to new cutting materials, adjusted tool geometries and coating systems. For the development of innovative tools and technologies, new approaches and procedures were used with consideration of the requirements and parameters of the cutting material [1]. The optimization of cutting edges and hard coating systems is one possibility to improve the process productivity and the product quality of produced parts. Practical examples from research and development, and the practical transfer of research results into the industrial practice will be presented in this publication.
