Organotrifluoroborate Preparation, Coupling and Hydrolysis

Part of the book series: Springer Theses ((Springer Theses))

Abstract

A novel route for the preparation of a wide range of organotrifluoroborate salts with different counter cations is described. It is a safe, rapid and scalable procedure with a simple work-up and isolation that provides good to excellent yields of analytically pure product. These new conditions avoid problems with glassware etching associated with previous methods. This chapter introduces the problem, describes the optimisation procedure and outlines the results gained.
