Abstract
Industrial Control Systems (ICSs) operate industrial infrastructures worldwide including water/wastewater, electric power, oil/gas, pipelines, chemicals, mining, pharmaceuticals, transportation, and manufacturing. ICSs measure, control, and provide a view of the process (once only the domain of the operator). These types of systems are commonly utilized throughout the global industrial infrastructures. ICSs are susceptible to cyber threats and there have been numerous cases where water and wastewater facilities have suffered either unintentional or malicious cyber attacks. This chapter will explain what is ICS cyber security, how it applies to the water/wastewater domain, and what can be done to better secure water/wastewater ICSs.
