Genetic control of B chromosome transmission in maize and rye

  • Chapter
Chromosomes Today

Abstract

Bchromosomes (Bs) are dispensable genetic elements which lack homology with any members of the basic set and have non-Mendelian modes of inheritance. They are widespread in many animal and plant species and our main interest is to understand the genetic mechanisms underlying their polymorphisms.
