Abstract

Just 100 years ago Crum-Brown and Fraser [1], in stating their conviction that biological activity must in some way be related to the structure of the agent causing it, laid the basis for all subsequent work on structure-activity relationships (S.A.R.).

Portions of this work were presented at the VII Congress of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Morelia, Mich., 13–16 November 1974

Work performed while on Sabbatical Leave at the Pharmacological Institute, University of Nijmegen, IV 1973 – III 1974

Constitutes part of the D.Sc. Thesis of J.F.R. de M., ‘Specificity in Drug Protein Interaction-Thermodynamic, Kinetic and Stereochemical Aspects’, Nijmegen 1975
