Abstract
This essay examines a selection of the scientific works of Dario Graffi and frame them within the historical period of his life. The selection is restricted to a some papers, essentially those with the more outstanding results, which though are enough to show why Dario Graffi has been an eminent mathematical physicist of the last century.
