Abstract

The capacity for self-understanding is described as the ability to gain insight into the self, which is defined as a center for meaning integration, by monitoring its meaning movements. It involves the process of becoming insightful especially of those habitually lived polar meanings, such as the need for dominance versus the need for surrender, that are lived, but yet are either neglected or suppressed.
