Abstract

The result of the actions of the telomere-subtelomere-telomerase system, in our species and in many similar species, is the atrophic syndrome, already briefly outlined in the preceding Chapter 5 – Subtelomere-Telomere aging theory, which manifests itself progressively and in relation to age in all tissues and organs. The characteristics of the atrophic syndrome are now discussed with more details.
