Abstract

This paper provides the results of tests of various grades of nanomodified cements (nanocements) and relevant reinforced concrete products. The following main quality indicators for nanocements were chosen: standard consistency and setting time of cement paste, flexural strength and compressive strength for various periods of time. The key indicator for tests of the reinforced concrete products is compressive resistance of concrete for different periods of time. Based on the results of laboratory tests, the construction and technical properties of Portland cement and nanomodified cement were compared. The comparison of strength characteristics of reinforced concrete products based on nanocement with the minimal design requirements is presented. The conducted analysis and the comparison of laboratory test results revealed that the use of nanocement in reinforced concrete products has significant benefits over Portland cement. The storage time for nanocement is also considerably higher, as the loss of nanocement activity during the long-term storage is many times lower than in case of Portland cement.
