Digitalization of Democratic Processes in Europe

Abstract

This paper refers to the discussion about the possibilities of increasing political participation in the Internet age. The main research problem is the analysis of available mobile applications that can be considered as a tool determining political activity. The hypothesis adopted by the author assumes that modern technologies are capable of redefining the political space and changing the configuration of political participation. It was assumed that a comparative analysis of three applications available on the world market will help in understanding whether currently we can witness the emerging of new forms of political participation or only modifications of its traditional forms. The research was carried out using multi-criteria analysis on the functionality, availability and intuitiveness of application data.
