Abstract

Patient was a 62 years old female with non-small cell carcinoma/adenocarcinoma of the lung, treated with left lower lobectomy and started on adjuvant carboplatin and paclitaxel chemotherapy. Two days later, she felt very unwell with nausea, vomiting, fatigue, shortness of breath with exertion, and left-sided chest pain.

Troponin I was 0.329 (normal: less than 0.012 ng/ml).

ECG showed normal sinus rhythm with ST depression and T-wave inversion in inferolateral leads.

The ECG changes and elevated troponin confirm diagnosis of non-ST elevation myocardial infarction.

She underwent PCI to the LAD and RCA with a bare metal stent.
