Abstract
Using the spiritual needs questionnaire has a moral dimension. In this contribution we reflect on this dimension from the perspective of the ethics of care. Because care is both an attitude and a practice in the use of the spiritual needs questionnaire four phases of caring can be distinguished with four qualities or ethical elements: caring about, caring for, caregiving and care receiving. Parallel to these phases using the spiritual care questionnaire requires a caring attitude that is characterized by attentiveness, responsibility, competency and responsiveness.
