Abstract
The Founder path is populated by entrepreneurs who start ventures according to their vision, passion, and expertise, leveraging this into organizations which they can lead through growth and success. Those on the founder path typically must develop a number of skills as part of their journey, ranging from reading financial statements to empowering others to share in their goals. Along the way, they often also must deal with resource scarcity, limitations of their own abilities and reach as the organization grows, and difficulty in determining which early employees may or may not be suitable for that growth. In highly successful ventures, founders may be challenged by decisions of whether to share ownership and how to manage their quasi-celebrity status.
