Abstract
Writing scientific articles is a skill that is gradually learnt through experience and guidance. No one is born an expert in scientific writing, let alone public health writing, which is quite different from other types of writing. The basic format of every scientific article follows a similar structural format of ‘Title, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Methods, Discussions, Conclusion, Acknowledgements and References’. Although this sequence is typically the same, different article types and journals may have different requisites that need to be adhered to. Choosing the most appropriate journal is another challenge. This chapter discusses the art of scientific writing and ways of identifying and targeting the most appropriate journal for your manuscript.
