Abstract
The EMR is an integral part of your clerkship experience. This chapter covers the must-knows of utilizing an electronic medical record (EMR) system to help speed up your workflow. Note that it is not meant to be a comprehensive manual on how to use an EMR. Since Epic is the most widely used EMR in the USA, we will use it in our examples; however, the underlying concepts should apply to most EMR systems. Remember, there are some stylistic differences between institutions and users, and these tips are not meant to be the only way EMRs can be used.
