Abstract

Being at the forefront of innovation is particularly important for women in ophthalmology since it increases our presence and the number of women at the podium and consequently in leadership positions. Visibility and availability for speaking engagements as well as embracing new techniques and technologies is one of the means of becoming known in the field. This is important not just for the women ophthalmologists now, but for the others to come.
