Abstract
Once the decision has taken to resect an esophageal cancer, there are two main surgical minimally invasive esophagectomy (MIE) approaches: the transthoracic (the two-staged Ivor Lewis esophagectomy or three-staged McKeown esophagectomy) and the transhiatal esophagectomy (THE).
