Abstract

Surgical approach of the esophagus from the cervical area is a recently introduced approach that has its basis in the mediastinoscopy. Through this approach, Buess and Becker described in 1990 the Endoscopic–Microscopic Esophageal Dissection (EMDE) using an operation mediastinoscope.
