Abstract
Preoperative embolization for supratentorial and infratentorial tumors play a very important role in the current management. The Neurologic Endovascular Therapy emerged as an indispensable tool for several decades for hypervascularized tumors.
The ideal intracranial tumors for preoperative embolization are meningiomas, hemangiopericytoma, hemangioblastomas, jugular glomus, metastasis, juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma, and paragangliomas of the carotid corpuscle.
The success of preoperative embolization depends on the selected cases, which in turn depends on histology, size, location, tumor vasculature, edema, surgical access and endovascular arterial branches.
