Abstract

Imaging is a valuable tool in patients who experience residual or recurrent symptoms after hand and wrist surgery. It is important for radiologists to be familiar with commonly performed surgical procedures and to identify their expected (normal) and abnormal post-operative imaging findings. Abnormal findings after surgery include procedure-related complications, infection and secondary osteoarthritis. New or previous overlooked injuries may also contribute to a patient’s symptoms.
