Entrepreneurial Finance in Emerging Markets

Abstract

The government began the introduction of Western venture capital into China. Since its inception, the development of venture capital in China has been robust, but has recently faced difficulties due to regulatory changes. Foreign venture capital had a dominant position in China before the 2008 financial crisis, but has subsequently lost its leadership position in recent years. Nevertheless, improvements to legal and market environments, and the availability of investable projects, continue to attract foreign investors to China.
