Abstract

Abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB) is a broad term that describes any deviation from normal menstrual rhythm. AUB is a common gynecologic symptom that includes several bleeding patterns that reflect a variety of causes. Thorough history taking is the key to efficient diagnostic and treatment plan. In this chapter, we will discuss AUB new terminology, diagnosis of underlying causes, and treatment per AUB subtypes and PALM–COEIN classes.
