Abstract
The dawn chorus woke Ben many hours ago. Now the sun is strong and he hears only a single bird, out there somewhere amongst the trees. He does not recognize the bird and does not try to. He is content knowing it is there and he is here, in the sunshine, on the porch of his little hut, shelling some of Rafi’s fantastic peas for a salad. Their funny stripes still make him smile.
