Abstract

In this chapter we discuss the key patient care practices that differentiate a trauma center. These include rapid emergency department evaluation, immediate blood availability, immediate surgical response, immediate operating room availability, rapid radiological capability with fast interpretation of studies, rapid specialty consultation, experienced and competent critical care, rehabilitation services, and close follow-up.
